On 22nd January 1936 Italian aircrafts played an important role in battle of Tembien because of bombing Ethiopian army with the dichlorodiethyl sulfide. Ethiopian emperor who promised the counterattack was detained and the Italians retrieved Tembien.

On 17th January 1969 Emil Plage was born. He was a mechanic, industrialist and co-owner of Mechanical Works E. Plage & T. Laśkiewicz in Lublin. He died on 12th December 1909. Mechanical Works manufactured such aircrafts as Ansaldo A.1 Balilla, Ansaldo A.300, Potez XV and series of Lublin aircrafts.
