Today in aviation history – 21st January

On 21st January 2012 died one of the last pilots from famous Division 303 – Ludwik Kraszewski. He was born in August 1916. As a boy he attended schools in Zaliszcz and Jabłoń. He graduated from male junior high in Biała Podlaska in 1938. As a student of junior high he belonged to Podlasie Aircraft Works Aero Club. In 1939 Kraszewski was accepted to Air Force Academy in Warsaw. The outbreak of war discontinued his education. After the September Campaign Kraszewski got into French air force unit in Lyon-Bron. After France capitulated Kraszewski was assigned to Hunting Division 303 in England. Afterwards Kraszewski served in Division 302. After war was finished he was studying in Scotland, then he moved to Canada where he lived and work until he died. Kraszewski was awarded Cross of Valor and Polish Air Force Medal for his services.
