On 19th January 1919 a French aviator – Jules Védrines won 25 thousand French francs for landing on the roof of Lafayette Galery in Paris (size of the roof: 28×12 meters). The prize was offered before the outbreak of the World War I. Védrines flew with Caudron G.3 aircraft. He died after 3 months in Caudron C.23 crash.
