On 15th July 1914 Werner Mölders gained his 101st aerial victory. Mölders was the first pilot to have gained more than 100 aerial victories. He was ordered for this with the Knight’s Cross. Mölders died in 1941, flying on borad in Heikel He 111 as a passenger.
On 14th July 2004 in Warsaw died Tadeusz Sołtyk – Polish engineer, aerial constructor, and professor of technical science. Sołtysik was born in 1909 in Radom. On 13th July 1909 was born sublieutenant Zygmunt Kurnatowski-Mielżyński. He was a landowner form Greater Poland who was enrolled in No. 3 aerial wing in Poznań in 1939. After battles during evacuation towards Romania, he was capturen near Tarnopol by Soviet soldiers. He was executed by NKVD in 1949 in Kharkiv.
On 12th July 1944 No. 616 fighting squadron RAF got first British fighter Gloster Meteor. On 27th July they were used in action for the forst time (seizuring V-1 aircraft).
