On 5th May 1931 Stanisław Skarżyński and Andrzej Markiewicz successfully finished their flight of 26,000 km around Africa using Polish aircraft PZL Ł-2. The route included Warsaw, Beograd, Athens, Cairo, Khartoum, Kisumu, Abercon, Elisabethville, Luebo, Léopoldville, Lagos, Abidjan, Bamako, Dakar, Port Etienne, Agadir, Villa Cisneros, Alicante and Paris.
