There is a growing market for Saab’s surveillance aircraft throughout the world. The 340 MSA (Maritime Security Aircraft) aircraft is part of the Airborne Surveillance family and will be one of Saab’s growth areas in the coming years.
Sweden orders UAS from AeroVironment
At Eurosatory | AeroVironment has received a firm fixed-price order for 12 hybrid small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (Försvarets Materielverk, FMV) on behalf of the Swedish Army. The order consists of Puma AE and Wasp air vehicles, ground stations, training, and logistics support. The order is the result of a competitive evaluation and procurement process. Contract options could increase the procurement to a total of 30 systems.
AAR to provide airlift support in Afghanistan
AAR (NYSE: AIR) announced today that the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) has exercised a renewal option for through May 31 of 2013. The option has a value of $104 million and is part of a task order awarded to AAR in June 2010.
Peace Caesar F-16 lease program successful for P & W
Pratt & Whitney and the Italian Air Force celebrated the highly successful Peace Caesar F-16 lease program and supporting Pratt & Whitney F100 Fleet Management Program during the F-16 departure ceremony on May 23 at Trapani Air Base, Italy. The Performance Based Logistics program was designed to provide affordable readiness for the Italian Air Force fleet when they began to operate the F-16 in 2003.
