Following more than two years of redevelopment works, Chopin Airport has opened a new part of Terminal A, which houses not only new spacious departures and arrivals halls, 15 additional shops and 10 food outlets, but also the long-awaited observation deck.

“A lot of people have waited for this moment and I am very happy to say the day has finally come. The observation deck is undoubtedly one of the main attractions of our airport and I am confident it is going to be very popular,” said Robert Stankiewicz, the manager of Chopin Airport’s Public Relations Department.

The observation deck, which is nearly 150 m long, offers a full view of the apron and the landing area. Take-offs and landings, as well as the handling of parked aircraft, are clearly visible.

The deck is open daily from 6 am to 10 pm. The entry is free and available to all, including disabled visitors. The deck is located in the public area of the airport and can be accessed from the railway station entrance level.

On the deck, there is a shop selling airport gifts and souvenirs from Warsaw. Nearby there is also a café with all-natural ice-cream, sweets and snacks.

Another attraction is the Chopin Airport Gallery, which will present aviation and travel-related works. The first exhibition, entitled “Planes – our passion”, shows the most beautiful pictures taken by aircraft spotters. The displays in the gallery will change a few times a year.

“We encourage all aviation enthusiasts, passengers and those who dream of flying to visit. I am sure both children and grown-ups will love our observation deck,” said Robert Stankiewicz.
