Today in aviation history – 1st September

On 1st September 1939 at 7:00 a.m. died a commander of Naval Air Squadron – Edward Szystowski in consequence of raid conducted by Germans. During the raid on Puck infrastructure of base camp was damaged, but fortunately planes were not destroyed.
