On 31st August 1940 No. 303 division became operational. The unit flew in aircrafts Hawker Hurricane from Northolt airport. Its first commander was Ronald Keller. Despite the fact that the unit fought in the battle of England only for 17 days, it was one of the best allied units. No. 303 division was also famous for operation Jubilee during World War II.
