On 23rd 1915 was born Włodzimierz Gedymin – a pilot of the Polish Army, participant of the September Campaign, experimental pilot, Honorary Citizen of City of Poznań. After regaining independence Gedymin moved to Poznań where he graduated from Karol Marinkowski’s gymnasium. Then he was gaining his aerial knowledge on airport Ławica in Poznań and in Dęblin. When II World War started he served in No. 131 fighting squadron which was a part of Army of Poznań. He flew PZL P.11 aircraft. During occupation he fought within Home Army. Gedymin died in June 2012. He was the last living pilot of the September Campaign.
