Southampton Airport reports a strong February 2014

Southampton Airport’s passenger figures for February 2014 show an increase of 5% on February last year, with particular growth in international travel.
The airport welcomed 105,805 passengers through the terminal this February. Geneva, Salzburg, Amsterdam and Dublin were the routes with the biggest growth on last year, along with the airport’s longest running routes to the Channel Islands.
Dave Lees, Managing Director of Southampton Airport, said: “We are delighted with this increase in passengers, which we can attribute partly to Southampton Airport’s biggest ever ski season. We are now gearing up for a busy summer and look forward to the return of passengers using the airport to join their cruises in Southampton.”
At the end of March, Southampton Airport begins its new summer schedule. Trusted tour operators such as Thomson, Thomas Cook and First Choice are all offering package holidays from Southampton to destinations like Majorca, the Algarve and the Italian Lakes from May until the autumn.
