On 23rd November 1916 died Lanoe Hawker – first British fighter ace from World War I. He was downed by Manfred von Richthofen. Leone Hawker was born on 30th December 1890 in Longparish. He was ordered with Victoria Cross.
On 22nd November 1909 was established Wright Company that manufactured aircrafts. The company was established by two brothers – Wilbur and Orville Wright. They came from the United States and were the aviation pioneers. They are said to be the constructors of a first working aircraft.
On 21st November 1914 three British aircrafts Avro 504 took off off France and carried out first long-distance bombing raid. The aims of the attack were German Zeppelins near Friederichshafen. On 20th November in Hurum (south-west from Oslo) crashed Dutch aircraft from Aero Holland Douglas DC-3. 34 people died, including 26 Jewish children travelling to Israel. Only 12-year-old boy survived.
On 19th November 1969 began mission Apollo 12. The crew consisted of Pete Conrad, Richard Gordon and Alan Bean. Mission’s aim was to land on the surface of the Moon. The commander – Pete Conrad became third man on the Moon.
