The Missile Defense Agency (MDA), U.S. Navy and Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] team successfully intercepted a separating ballistic missile target with the second generation of the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) system, Aegis BMD 4.0.1, and the Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IB missile.
