ATK (NYSE: ATK) announced that a modified variant of its Mk44 Bushmaster® Automatic Cannon, was recently type classified as the GAU-23 by the U.S. Air Force for integration on AC-130W gunships. A rapid prototyping effort quickly provided the USAF with cannons for operational use.

Northrop will develop and implement cryptography upgrades
The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NOC) a three-year, $108 million contract to develop and implement cryptography upgrades as part of the intercontinental ballistic missile cryptography upgrade II engineering and manufacturing development program.

Today Defence Minister Espen Barth Eide announced that the Norwegian Government has decided to start the process to finalize the development of JSM and integration on F-35. The decision comes as a consequence of Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta’s confirmation of US support for integration.
