The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation a $52.8 million, 27-month engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) contract to upgrade its electronic attack (EA) pods. The program has a potential value of $480 million including EMD, a low-rate initial production phase (LRIP) and five production options.

1000 hours on Eurofighter
Lieutenant Colonel Daniele L. of the Italian Air Force has become the first Italian Typhoon pilot to reach 1,000 flight hours on the aircraft. This milestone was achieved during an Air Defence training mission flown through Tuscany’s air space recently.

Polish MiG-29 start their Air Policing mission
April 26, formal rotation of contingent ceremony was held at the Lithuanian Air Force’s Šiauliai Air Base hosting the Baltic Air Policing mission. After four months on service German Air Contingent were replaced by a Polish air unit with four Mig-29 fighter jets.
