Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. ended the year 2015 with a net profit of $118 million (459 million Shekels), with orders totaling $2 billion (7.7 billion Shekels), an order backlog of $4.9 billion (19.4 billion Shekels) and sales of $2 billion (7.8 billion Shekels).

Rafael announces today, March 22, 2016, its financial results for the year 2015:

Rafael develops and manufactures advanced defense systems for the IDF and the defense establishment in Israel and for many countries around the world, and conducts global partnerships.

Rafael is the largest employer in Northern Israel with approximately 7,000 employees and numerous subcontractor and service suppliers, and its employees are engaged in significant community activities.

In 2015, Rafael continued the production of air defense systems such as Iron Dome and David’s Sling, which completed its R&D tests, advanced active defense systems such as Trophy, air-to-ground systems, multi-purpose, electro-optical-tactical precision missile systems, navigation, targeting and tactical reconnaissance pods („Litening”), Communication and Intelligence systems, space propulsion, and more.

In addition, in 2015 Rafael was selected by the Israeli government to head Israel’s CERT program as part of the country’s National Cyber Center.

In addition, in 2015 Rafael continued its investment and professional development of its human capital, while maintaining its R&D and its significant cooperation with academic institutions.

Rafael’s order backlog in 2015 was $5 billion, comprising approximately 2.5 years of sales activity. Rafael continues its work to expand its existing international markets and enter new ones, while creating new joint ventures and cooperation both in Israel and abroad.

Approximately 50% of Rafael’s sales are intended for export to many countries in Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and others.

President and CEO of Rafael, Major General (ret.) Yoav Har-Even stated:

„In 2015 Rafael completed a number of key projects for Israel’s defense establishment, including the final R&D test of the David’s Sling air defense system, together with the IMOD and Raytheon, and the system is now being delivered to the Israeli Air Force.”

Har-Even thanked Rafael’s former CEO and President, VADM (ret.) Yedidia Yaari for last year’s achievements and for 11 years of successful activity for Rafael.

„Since I entered my position some two months ago, I have seen more and more how Rafael’s employees continue to serve as the leading edge in R&D, production and delivery of the most advanced systems to the Israeli defense establishment and to its customers across the globe. The ability to develop multi-faceted systems with high cost-benefit is our real force-multiplier”, Har-Even added.

Brig. Gen. (ret.) Itzhak Gat, Chairman of the Board at Rafael, said that Rafael continues to be a main pillar in Israel’s security, economy and society, and invest in R&D are a result of its highly qualified and dedicated work force.

Upon receiving the 2015 financial results, the Chairman of the Board conveyed his thanks to Rafael’s former CEO and President, VADM (ret.) Yedidia Yaari, to its new CEO and President, Major General (ret.) Yoav Har-Even, and the company’s management, board of directors and employees for their invaluable contribution to Rafael’s local and international business growth and to Israel’s security.
