Both Lufthansa and Fraport in partnership are creating new digital shopping possibilities for passengers at Frankfurt Airport. Throughout the entire travel time, more comfort, quality and choices will be available to them online in the future. With „Lounge Shopping”, Lufthansa and Fraport now offer the first joint service platform. Accordingly, travelers in selected Lufthansa lounges at Frankfurt Airport can purchase exclusive products from in-airport shops on iPads put at their disposal, and have them delivered within half an hour. The online product range extends from fine delicacies and spirits to fashionable accessories to practical travel goods and leather goods.
In the coming months, the available product range will also be expanded. In addition, delivery to lounges for departing passengers will be extended during the first quarter of the year to „Inflight Shopping” services appropriate for incoming travelers. On long-haul flights to Frankfurt, Lufthansa passengers can already buy exclusive products from airport stores while in flight and collect them at the arrival gate immediately after landing.
With the new Gourmet Service “Taste & Travel”, Lufthansa and Fraport will also explore new digital possibilities. Shortly iPads will be available for this at the check-in area and near the security checkpoint, on which Lufthansa passengers can choose menus for delivery to the departure gate. These are then delivered in high quality and heat-insulating packaging, even enabling the passenger to enjoy the chosen meal while on board.
