On 26th November 2011 died flight lieutenant Tomasz Łęgowski. He was born on 8th March 1920. In 1938 he joined Polish aviation as a volunteer. He didn’t manage to finish training before World War II. He was evacuated to Romania. He managed to get to France through the Republic of Malta, and then to Great Britain. Since April 1942 he served in No. 316 fighter division in Warsaw. One year later he was downed in Belgium and taken prisoner. After the war ended, he lived abroad. He was ordered with the Cross of Valor.
