On 12th November 1944 about 30 British Avro Lancaster bom bers dropped Tallboy bombs (about 5,5 tons each) on German KMS Tirpitz liner that was in one of the Norwegian fiords. Two out of 29 bombs that had been dropped hit the target and damaged the ship. In consequence the liner sank, about 1000 sailors died.
