Today in aviation history – 13th October

On 13th October 1926 Józef Piłsudzki announced guidelines and directives for organization and use of military air forces in Poland. In the document he paid attention to weaponry of Polish aircrafts, clarification of commands, and use of the air forces for reconnaissance and communication purposes.
On 13th October 9 Japanese four-engine bombers attacked Attu Island. It was the last bombing on the Aleutian Island conducted by the Japanese.
