Lockheed Martin test pilot Bill Gigliotti flew the second F-35A for Australia (RAAF serial number A35-002, company number AU-2) on its first flight on 1 October 2014 from NAS Fort Worth JRB. The aircraft is scheduled for delivery later this year and will be assigned initially to Luke AFB, Arizona, where it will be used to train F-35 pilots for Australia and other international partner countries for the F-35 program.
