On 6th August 1920 in a plane crash died Polish aviator captain Stefan Bastyr. He was a World War I veteran. On 5th November together with lieutenant Janusz de Beaurain made a first flight in the history of Polish aviation. Later on Bastyr commanded aerial group, aerial trainings and No. 3 aerial division in Lviv. He died in a plane crash in fighter Fokker D. VII.
