Today in aviation history – 26th June

On 26th June 1898 in Frankfurt was born Wilhelm Emil Messerschmitt. Messerschmitt was a German aerial constructor. He took part in I World War and after the war ended, he started engineering studies. In 1923 he established an aerial constructing company Messerschmitt-Flugzeugbau-Gesellschaft. Since 1927 his company worked with Bayerische Flugzeugwerke AG (BFW). Messerschmitt was main constructor of BFW and he became famous by constructing bombers Bf 109, Bf 110 and Me 262.
