Today in aviation history – 18th June

On 18th June 1928 a Norwegian flying boat Latham 47 with 6 people on board went missing. Among passengers was famous polar Roald Amundsen. Their aim was to find survivors from Italian airship ‘Italia’. The body of the commander of the airship – Umberto Nobile was found a year later. The bodies of the crew of Latham 47 have never been found.
