Today in aviation history – 14th June

On 14th June 2007 died Robin Olds, American fighting ace. Olds was born in July 1922. During II World War he joined military academy in West Point, he graduated in 1943 as a sublieutenant. In May 1944 he made a flying course and was transferred to No. 479 fighting group. During the war he managed to make 107 fighting flights, down 13 German planes, and according to official data he has also damaged another 11,5 planes on the ground.
