On 18th April 1942 17 bombers B-25 Mitchell took off of aircraft carrier USS Hornet commanding by sub-colonel James Doolitle. The bombers were attacking different targets in Japanese islands. The American gained full astonishment. Even though the attack caused little damages, it had a great psychological meaning, buoyed up the soldiers and citizens of the United States and caused concerns in Japanese society.
