Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre: A Spinner from the Rockies

The guys in Nanton, Alberta with Lancaster FM159 at the Bomber Command Museum of Canada have been kind enough to help us out with sourcing a new spinner to replace our number 2.

The spinner we have been lucky enough to receive from them was one of the originals fitted to FM159 and still has the original number painted on the inside!

The spinner fitted to our number 2 engine is in serious need of some major works to it the cost of which may be too prohibitive. Sourcing this Canadian spinner has meant NX611 will continue to taxy 'fully dressed’ and is in such good condition that it will go forward as an airworthy part after some light work to treat some internal corrosion.

Karl Kjarsgaard can be seen in the photo below delivering the spinner to Andrew and Harold Panton.
