On 18th March 1916 Ersnt Udet gained his first aerial victory. Till the end of World War I he managed to down 62 hostile aircrafts, which puts him on the second place (after Manfred von Richthofen) of German aerial aces of World War I. In the interwar period Udet was a sport, stunt and aerobatic pilot. In 1933 he joined NSDAP, and after two years he became an officer of Luftwaffe. In November 1941 Ernst Udet committed suicide.
