Today in aviation history – 15th March

On 15th March 1918 a ship Royal Navy HMS Furious returned to service. The ship was built as a light battle cruiser, but in 1917 it was reconstructed to an aircraft carrier. Eventually the main weaponry was removed and replaced with 2 decks. It was also equipped with two elevators. On 15th March 1918 the ship returned to service to fight German Zeppelins.
