Chopin Airport passenger numbers down 5% in January

The first month of 2014 saw 4.9% less passengers than the corresponding period last year, but 9.5% more than January 2012. It needs to be remembered that the record performance in 2013 was thanks to the unplanned decision of Rynair and Wizz Air, which could not operate out of Modlin Airport due to runway closure, to transfer flights to Chopin Airport.

In total, Chopin Airport handled 556,500 passengers in international traffic (down 6.1%) and 85,600 domestically (up 4.4%, marking the airport’s best January on record).

The number of aircraft movements went down by 10.3%, standing at 10,000.
