Today in aviation history – 15th January

On 15th January 1991 English entrepreneur and bilioner Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson flew over the Pacific Ocean in a balloon. The flight began in Japan and finished in Canada. Branson managed to cover the longest distance in a history of balloon flights – 108000 km. He also set a new world record by reaching speed of 394 km/h. Bronson was accompanied in his travel by Swedish pilot and engineer – Per Lindstrand.
