Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, today broke ground on a new $50 million jet engine test facility at the company’s outdoor testing site on NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. When fully operational, the facility is expected to create 35 highly-skilled jobs.

New jet fuel presented in Brazil
Azul Brazilian, in partnership with Amyris, Embraer and GE, will make a demonstration flight today using an innovative, renewable jet fuel produced from Brazilian sugarcane. Heading to Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont Airport, the Embraer E195 jet operated by Azul will depart from Campinas Viracopos Airport and will fly over the „Marvelous City” of Rio, which is hosting the U.N. Conference for Sustainable Development this week.
Bombardier signed and a 5 year agreement with Eurolot
Bombardier Aerospace announced today that it has signed a five-year agreement under its Q400 Smart Parts program with Eurolot S.A. of Warsaw, Poland. Following the first delivery of Eurolot’s Q400 NextGen aircraft in May 2012, the parties finalized a Smart Parts agreement which is customized to the airline’s specific operational requirements.
Boeing will cooperate with Selex
Boeing and SELEX Sistemi Integrati, S.p.A – a Finmeccanica company- have entered into a collaboration agreement in support of the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) program’s development phase — the European air traffic modernization program.
Boeing will cooperate with SELEX Sistemi Integrati with research in flight data modeling and data link communications for all phases of flight, and system-wide information management (SWIM) – an internet-like system that enables information-sharing across all stakeholders.
New training cotract for EDA
Today the European Defence Agency’s Deputy Chief Executive, Adam Sowa, and Cassidian’s Sales Director Services, Heinz Unterreiner, met at the EDA to sign a 100.000 Euro training services contract.
Pratt & Whitney Canada is selling its facility in Brisbane
Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has reached an agreement to sell its P&WC (A’Asia) Pty Ltd’s Brisbane, Australia, MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) facility to Vector Aerospace Corporation. The sale applies to the assets and facility associated with its PT6A engine repair and overhaul facility located in the area. As part of the transaction, Vector’s newly purchased facility will be appointed a Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) for PT6A engines. P&WC is a United Technologies Corp. company (UTX).
