(Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that itsIntegral Systems Europe Limited (ISE) subsidiary has been awarded a contract byAsia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat) to upgrade another satellite terminal at itsTai Po Earth Station inHong Kong SAR. Under the terms of the contract, ISE will upgrade one of Tai Po’s C-band Radio Frequency (RF) uplink systems. Factory integration for the new system will begin shortly at ISE’s ground systems integration facility nearNewcastle upon Tyne,UK. When the installation at Tai Po is completed later this year, the new system will expand AsiaSat’s transmission capacity and provide more flexible transponder access across its satellite fleet.
ATK supports Pegasus XL rocket launch
ATK (NYSE: ATK) supported the successful launch of an Orbital Sciences Corporation (NYSE: ORB) air-launched Pegasus XL® rocket from the Ronald Reagan Test Site at Kwajalein Atoll in the Pacific Ocean. The Pegasus rocket carried NASA’s Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR) satellite, an Orbital-built spacecraft designed to study high energy X-rays in the universe.
Lockheed delivers NASA’s Magnetosphereic Multiscale mission (MMS)
Engineers and scientists at the Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] Space Systems Advanced Technology Center (ATC) have completed delivery of key hardware subsystems for NASA’s Magnetosphereic Multiscale mission (MMS). The delivery comprised four flight subsystems and one flight spare unit. The prime contractor Southwest Research Institute (SWRI) partnered with Lockheed Martin to develop and build the Hot Plasma Composition Analyzer (HPCA) as part of the MMS instrument suite.
