Aeroflot Group was responsible for one of the three highest frequency new routes launched anywhere in the world in 2015, according to the anna.aero airline network news and analytics portal.
Aeroflot began flying 35 times a week from Moscow Domodedovo to Simferopol on 25 October (flight numbers SU 5800/5801, SU 5802/5803, SU 5804/5805, SU 5806/5807, SU 5808/5809).
Aeroflot Group was ranked in the global top 20 by total number of routes launched in 2015, according to anna.aero.
Pobeda, the Group’s low-cost carrier (LCC), which began operations in December 2014, placed seventh overall with 46 new routes during the year. LCCs continued their dominance in terms of new routes.
The rankings once again highlight the Russian flag carrier’s continued focus on operational efficiency, which has delivered dynamic growth despite the economic challenges facing the aviation sector.
