Warsaw Chopin Airport enjoys continuous growth

In November Warsaw Chopin Airport handled 777 thousand travellers. Compared to November 2014 it is a 4.1 percent increase.

From January to November 2015 10.5 million passengers were handled at the Chopin Airport, an increase of 6.1 percent compared y-o-y. It is almost the number of the passengers handled in the whole 2014. In the international traffic 9,393 million people flew (+7.4%), the domestic flights were used by 1,089 million passengers (-3.5% y-o-y.)

In November 2015 the number of passenger flight operations, including the operations of traditional and low-cost carriers, fell by 2.9 percent and amounted to 9.3 thousand. The number of passengers handled grows by significantly reduced flight operations.

-From the time, when we opened the modernised Terminal A in May, numbers of passengers grow from month to month and this trend will continue in the coming years. We already know that the result for the whole year 2015 will set an absolute record, as for the first time in history we cross the level of 11 million passengers handled in one year – says Radoslaw Paruzel, deputy director of Chopin Airport.

From the beginning of 2015, 9.7 million people were handled at Warsaw airport, which means a 6.3 percent increase compared to ten months of last year. 8.7 million passengers (an increase of 7.5 per cent.) travelled in international traffic and in domestic traffic – 999 thousand passengers (a decrease of 3.6 percent.).
