More than 1.2 million people were handled at Warsaw Chopin Airport in August 2015. It was yet another record-breaking month in the history of the biggest Polish airport. The number of passengers, in comparison with August of last year, rose by 5.5 percent.
In July and August Chopin Airport handled over 2.4 million passengers, which constitutes a record in the history of the Warsaw airport. Compared with last year, the number of passengers increased by 5.6 percent.
– The peak of the summer season at Chopin Airport had another record finish. This year we aspire to accomplish a breakthrough goal of serving more than 11 million passengers till the end of December. The current numbers make us optimistic – says Chopin Airport CEO, Michał Kaczmarzyk.
From the beginning of 2015 Chopin Airport handled more than 7.5 million passengers which means an increase of 6.8 percent in comparison to the same period of 2014. In the international traffic over 6.8 million people were traveling (8.1% yoy) and 780.8 thousand people used the domestic traffic. (-3.3% yoy). In the first eight months of 2015 the number of passenger flight operations was at 84.5 thousand and increased y-o-y by 4.5 percent.
