First Batch of Trainees Officially Inducted in Tahleeq Program

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the managing body and operator of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), along with the Ministry of Transportation (MoT) and Tamkeen, recently welcomed the first batch of nine Bahraini trainees to the Tahleeq graduate training program, marking the official launch of this ambitious initiative.

The graduates were greeted at Bahrain International Airport by His Excellency The Minister of Transportation, Tamkeen’s Chairman and Acting Chief Executive and Chief Executive Officer of BAC who shared a few words on the focus, aspirations and tremendous prospects of the Tahleeq program. The new trainees were also taken on a familiarization tour of the terminal.

Designed in partnership with the MoT, Tamkeen and BAC, Tahleeq is a capacity building program for aspiring, high-performing Bahraini graduates, which aims to shape the future leaders of Bahrain’s aviation industry. This ambitious two-year scheme has been designed to immerse young Bahrainis into the aviation sector and provide valuable practical experience through the Airport Modernization Program (AMP) currently underway.

Under the Tahleeq scheme, talented and ambitious Bahrainis have been recruited to specialize in specific fields including Engineering, Airport Operations, Information Technology and Facilities Management.

According to Mr. Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Airport Company, “In line with our commitment in investing in the local talent, we are proud to offer training and development opportunities to the young Bahraini workforce in order to boost skill advancement. Tahleeq is an ideal platform for talented graduates to kick-start their careers and offers great prospects to those eager to learn and seize the opportunity that has been granted to them. Tamkeen’s Chairman and Acting Chief Executive, His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed Bin Essa Al Khalifa stated “Tamkeen is continuously working to provide ambitious Bahraini individuals with the support they need in order to accomplish their career and personal objectives. This program together with the BAC and the Ministry of Transportation comes as part of our efforts to give ambitious youthful individuals the opportunity to learn about critical aviation sector practices in a real and tested environment.”

Additional batches of trainees will be inducted into the Tahleeq scheme at different phases of the Airport Modernization Program (AMP).
