Today in aviation history – 18th August

On 18th August 1918 was made a test flight of an American bomber Martin MB-1. It was a biplane with wooden construction. It was powered by two engines Liberty 12A, 400 KM each, with were placed between the wings. The crew consisted of a pilot, bomb-aimer and back shooter. The aircraft could carry up to 471 kg of bombs.
