Today in aviation history – 14th August

On 14th August 1931 was made a test flight of ANT-14 Prawda. It was a Soviet passenger airplane constructed by Tupolev’s construction office. The main reason for constructing this plane was the necessity of constructing a passenger airplane that will be able to fly between Moscow and Vladivostok without landing. ANT-14 had metal construction, and was powered by five engines, one was placed on fuselage, and the other four on wings.
