Today in aviation history – 25th July

On 25th July 1915 in Brooklin was born Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., US Navy pilot and brother of the president of the US Jogn Fitzgerald Kennedy. During World War II he fought as a bombing pilot/ He died on 12th August during Aphrodite’s program – operation involving damaging German weapons. The aircraft exploded before the pilot and mechanic had a chance to parachute.
