On 9th July 1918 died a British fighting ace James McCudden. He gained 57 aerial victories. McCudden was a pilot since 1916 (before that he had benn an observer). He didn’t die during a sortie but on his way from his holidays back to the front. The cause of the accident was faulty engine in his aircraft.
