On 5th July 1994 Francis Gabreski – an American pilot of Polish origin downed his 28th German aircraft, which was a new record for an American aviation in Europe. Gabreski was one of the best American fighting aces during World War II. Later on Gabreski fought in Korea. Altogether he oficially downed 34,5 aircrafts and probably 3 more.
