One of the most well known jet fighters and trainers in the history of the US Air Force, the T-33 and its variants enjoyed a long service history in the United States
The Collings Foundation operates T-33A #51-6953 out of the Foundation’s Houston / Ellington Field base. Just recently, the T-33 was meticulously repainted to represent a support aircraft of the 111th Fighter Bomb Squadron, 136th Fighter Bomb Group. The 111th is known as “Ace In The Hole” squadron. Still based at Ellington field, the 111th has been in continuous operation since 1917.
