Abingdon Air & Country Show: RAF Tucano colours

The pictured Royal Air Force Tucano will be present (with a spare aircraft) at Abingdon. This aircraft is the designated display aircraft and flown by Flt Lt Dave Kirby, from 72 (R) Squadron, at RAF Linton on Ouse, Yorks. Dave has been practising his routine for some time working up to his PDA (Public Display Authorisation) whereby he will be rubber stamped to perform in front of thousands of people during the 2014 airshow season both in the UK and in Europe. Like most other displays we have, this will be Daves first public show. This years aircraft is designed to commemorate the World War One Centenary by incorporating a poppy theme – the universal symbol of remembrance. The team has also added the words ‘Lest We Forget’ on both the bottom of the aircraft and the sides of the fuselage.
