On 30th March 1929 there was made a test flight of a prototype of an American flying boat Sikorsky S-42. The aircraft was destined for transatlantic passenger flights. Sikorsky S-42 was powered by 4 Pratt & Whitney Hornet engines. The aircraft could carry 4 members of staff and 37 passengers. There were produced only 10 Sikorsky S-42 aircrafts.
