PRESTWICK: Airport Conducts Travel Demand Survey

PRESTWICK Airport is conducting a new Ayrshire-wide survey to research demand for both business and leisure travel.

The aim is to find out what local people’s needs are for air travel by detailing what routes they currently fly and what routes they would like to see provided in the future from Prestwick, their local airport. Currently Ryanair offers 24 scheduled services from the airport but the Scottish Government, the airport’s new owner, is determined to bring new airlines and further routes onto the Prestwick tarmac.
Paula Horne

Passenger Development Manager Paula Horne said: „We’re committed to identifying and pursuing opportunities to increase services here at Prestwick and the data we get from the survey will help us enormously.”

Questions asked include:

Which UK & Ireland routes do you, your team or your visitors fly and what is the approximate number of annual trips?
If you or a member of your team have travelled recently within Europe on business where was your destination?
What destinations not currently served from Prestwick would you like to fly to from Prestwick?
What could Prestwick do to become your airport of choice?
Paula stressed that the information provided will remain confidential and be used for research purposes only. She added: “We want as many Ayrshire people as possible to respond to the survey’s questions and it will only take five minutes of your time. Your involvement is really appreciated and will help us boost services here.”
