Today in aviation history – 9th February

On 9th February 1937 there was made a test flight of a prototype of an aircraft Blackburn Skua. It was supposed to be a universal aircraft that would replace fighter aircrafts, surveillance aircrafts and dive bombers. Blackburn Skuas were used on aircrafts carriers such as: HMS „Ark Royal”, HMS „Glorious” and HMS „Illustrious”. In 1938-1940 the total production run of those aircrafts was 190.
