Her Majesty then went to the Sergeants Mess where she was introduced to members of the mess.
Sergeant Alison Woods from Personnel Services Flight said “It was fantastic to meet and speak with Her Majesty once again. She was very interested in my role as the Deputy Air Cadet Liaison Officer for RAF Marham and the work the team does to organise and host the Annual Summer Camps. This has been a terrific way for me to start 2014“.
After visiting the Sergeants Mess Her Majesty went on to the Officer’s Mess where she had lunch with personnel from the Station.
On exiting the Officers Mess after lunch Her Majesty was greeted by cheers from children from the Marham Junior School. 5 year old Owen Wright from Marham Infant School welcomed Her Majesty to RAF Marham while 8 year old Caitlyn Tristram presented her with a posy.
Her Majesty left the Station to cheering crowds of families from Marham along with children from the Rainbow Daycare Centre and Marham Infant School who had braved the cold to line the route and wave flags as Her Majesty passed by them.
RAF Marham’s Station Commander, Group Captain Harv Smyth said “To have Her Majesty the Queen as Honorary Air Commodore of RAF Marham is fantastic for the Station and it was a privilege and an honour to welcome her here today”.
