Freight volumes at Leipzig/Halle Airport set a new record for the ninth time in succession. Leipzig/Halle handled 887,101 tonnes of freight in 2013, an increase of 2.7 percent.
“Leipzig/Halle Airport has continued to enhance its position as Germany’s second-largest cargo hub and has also reinforced its ranking as one of the most important air freight handling centres in Europe,” says Markus Kopp, CEO of Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding.
