Today in aviation history – 7th January

On 7th January 1928 there was a test flight of a Soviet multitask aircraft Po-2. Nikolai Polikarpov’s construction was used in USSR air force until 1950’s for trainings, bombing and attacking, and also as a sanitary and farming aircraft. Po-2 reached speed of 150 km/h and its weaponry consisted of one machine gun and 2 bombs (120 kg each) or 4 rockets.
